2017 Contest Winner - Kelly Lancellotti
Depicted is Giulia Lancellotti and her leopard appaloosa, "Spot In My Heart", at their first hunter jumper show together at Brookside Show Park. They won first place in the Cross Rail Hunters class and placed 3rd in Short Stirrup Equitation.
Giulia is 11 years old and has been riding at Bayveiw Farms in Minden, Nevada for three years. Her pony's barn name is “Patrick”, who is a Pony of Americas. He has taken her from trotting cross rails up to cantering 2'3" courses. She plans to use her prize money to enter more shows. Giulia loves showing and enjoys the attention her spotted pony receives while on the show grounds.
2017 Honorable Mention - William Powell
Photographed is Hadleigh Powell and “Hank”. Hadleigh has been riding for 18 months but has had a love for horses from before she could speak. Hadleigh and “Hank” had an instant love for each other. Hadleigh participated in her first county fair under the instruction of Miss Pat (Pat Keys) who has been teaching Hadleigh to ride and shares the same love and passion for horses. This was Hadleigh’s first blue ribbon.
Hadleigh plans on spending the award money on Christmas presents. Hadleigh would like to thank Miss Pat for helping her win her first blue ribbon and sharing her love for riding.

2017 Honorable Mention - Vicky & Emma Carroll
Photographed are Emma Carroll of Lochmoor Stables and “Showboat” aka “Showby”, a large pony hunter well known and much-loved throughout Ohio and beyond. “Showby”, has carried Emma to countless Champion and Reserve titles in the Limit Hunter division, to the Ohio Hunter Jumper Association (OHJA) medal finals, and to year-end equitation awards in Ohio and Kentucky. Throughout her career, “Showby” has been named Grand Champion, Champion and Reserve Champion at some of the country’s most prestigious horse shows. “Showby” lives at Lochmoor Stables in Lebanon, Ohio when she is not out on lease. Emma has had the privilege of riding and showing her. Emma has been riding since she was 8-years-old with renowned trainer Patty Rogers. This photo was taken after “Showby” and Emma won the first ever Childress Rodgers Memorial Classic, held at Windfall Farm. The classic is named in memory of longtime Ohio horsewoman “Chile” Rodgers, who died in 2016, leaving behind a legacy of students who loved her and are better riders, and people, for having known her. The win was especially poignant for Emma, because she knew and admired Chile very much.
2017 Honorable Mention - Lorrianne DeLeo
Photographed are 12 year old Kaitlyn DeLeo from Hilltown Pa and 20 year old “CPF Jackson” owned by Jan Cobb. Kaitlyn and “Jackson” are part of Bucks County's 4-H program. This is Kaitlyn's second year working with “Jackson”. Kaitlyn has trained hard under the guidance of her trainer this past year to perfect side passing, reversing through obstacles and walk/trot/cantering.
This photograph is from their 4H club’s show where Kaitlyn and “Jackson” scored over champion in the junior class. Kaitlyn plans to use the award money to continue her training and learn to jump for the upcoming year.
2017 Honorable Mention - Christine Rose
Photographed are FEI rider and trainer John Amber and four year old imported Dutch Warmblood gelding "Herlandos RE" (Lando) owned by Heather Houck of Monarch Farms, Loxahatchee, FL. John trained and rode in Europe before settling in the US. This is “Lando's” first year of showing.
“Lando” is a big friendly gelding, eager to please in the show ring but equally at home hanging out in the paddocks with his barn buddies and palling around with his owner, Heather, at his home, Monarch Farms. A portion of the prize money will be used to buy “Lando” a new fly mask and some treats to share with his human and horse friends at the barn. Susan Bixler
Depicted is 2 year old miniature horse, “Hidden Timbers Unique Streak” and Susan Bixler at a Mason Dixon Miniature Horse Association show this past summer. The photo was taken by Susan’s friend Carla DuRand.
Susan purchased “Hidden Timbers Unique Streak” when she was only a few days old. “Hidden Timbers Unique Streak” won under both judges in 2 year old mares and went on to win a Grand Championship that day. Susan is proud of “Hidden Timbers Unique Streak”!!! Susan has had many judges and exhibitors tell her how much they like “Hidden Timbers Unique Streak” and that she is one gorgeous filly.
Susan’s future plan with “Hidden Timbers Unique Streak” aka “Moonshine” (barn name), is to do hunter, jumper, showmanship, trail and a costume class. “This little girl is an amazing filly and I love her so much”. Susan has been working with horses for over 40 years and for her 50th birthday; Susan’s husband let her pick out a new miniature horse. “It’s been a fantastic journey for the past 6 years with me now having 7 mini horses”. Susan has rode, trained, and owned big horses for all those years and now has a barn full of miniature horses. The bigger horses are all gone; the little minis ones have taken their place in her heart and barn. “They are so wonderful to train and are so willing to please”. Susan loves each and every one of them.

Rebekah Day
Pictured are Rebekah Day and "Tres Chic", “a.k.a Schie”, a 15 year old female anglo-arab. The rosettes in this picture are year-end awards from the second year of showing at Horse Shows in the Park.
The pair had an incredible year in the Children's Hunter division and the equitation, also receiving fifth place overall hunter horse and reserve champion overall amateur rider. Rebekah leased “Schie” for two years. These rosettes will always remind Rebekah of what they achieved together and all that “Schie” taught her. Rebekah also praises her incredible trainer Megan Galloway for the help she provided to achieve their goals!

Jeannie Bradley
Photographed is Wendy Dowdy, Jeannie Bradley and Autum Dowdy with “Rebel”, an American Quarter Horse after a Western Riders of Virginia horse show.
“Rebel” is an 11-year-old gelding that Wendy got as a Mother’s Day present in 2016. “Rebel” and his three riders have spent this season learning each other and building their bond. "Rebel" has three riders of different experience levels and has carried all three of them to championships on multiple show series in 2016. The prize money won will be used to buy new supplies for the 2017 shows.

2017 Honorable Mention - Sabrina Schmidt
Sabrina Schmidt and “The Only Exception” (owned by Katie Rudnick) competed at the Southeast Medal Finals in Jacksonville, FL in September 2016. The pair placed Silver medalists in the Low Adult Medal Final and Bronze medalists in the Low Adult Hunter Final. The photo of their beautiful prizes was taken and submitted by Sabrina, who hopes to use the prize money towards another upcoming medal final the pair qualified for!
2017 Honorable Mention - Taylor Flury
Asca Z x Calato, aka “Carrasca Z”, is a 6 year old Zangersheide and BWP Approved Stallion. “Carrasca Z” is owned, raised and developed at AliBoo Farm Inc. He is currently one of the leading young jumpers and recently won the 2016 6-Year-Old Young Jumper Finals with Taylor Flury. “Carrasca Z” is also used as a breeding stallion and has beautiful progeny that we look forward to seeing develop. The future is bright for “Carrasca Z”, be sure to check out his Facebook page under his name! The prize money from this photo will be used towards his fund to show in Europe in the summer of 2017.
